Malaysian 'Muslim' woman fails in bid to become Hindu
A Malaysian woman who was converted to Islam as a child failed Wednesday in a legal battle to change her religion back to Hinduism, in the latest conversion dispute in the multi-ethnic nation.
The High Court in Penang state ruled that 28-year-old S. Banggarma, whose Muslim name is Siti Hasnah Vangarama Abdullah, was a Muslim because her parents converted the whole family in 1983.
"Parents have the right to determine the faiths of children who are below 18. It is a universal right, irrespective of religion," said judicial commissioner Yaacob Sam.
Banggarma, who has argued that she was made to convert to Islam at the age of seven when she was placed in a children's home, vowed to continue to fight the case.
"I was born a Hindu, and I want to die a Hindu," she said.
At the orphanage, Banggarma was given a Muslim name and her identity card -- a critical document in Malaysia -- declared her to be a Muslim. But as a teenager she rediscovered her religious identity.
She lives with her husband, S. Sockalingam, whom she married in a traditional Hindu ceremony, but they are unable to register their union because, officially, they belong to different religions.
Malaysian Muslims are not permitted to marry someone of another faith, unless the spouse converts to Islam. She is also unable to name her husband as the father of their two children on their birth certificates.
Banggarma's lawyers said they were disappointed with the court's decision.
"This is not the end. After going through the grounds for the dismissal, we will seriously consider appealing this case at the Court of Appeal," said counsel Gooi Hsiao Leung.
Conversion rows, including "body-snatching" cases when Islamic authorities have battled with relatives over the remains of deceased family members whose religion is disputed, are common in Muslim-majority Malaysia.
The tussles have raised allegations that the country is being "Islamised" and that the rights of the ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities are being eroded.
The last sentence really strike my nerves. This is one of the major problems here in Malaysia. Malay regards themselves as superiors and therefore making Chinese and Indians feels less recognised. True Malaysia is a Muslim country and true Malay is the majority in this country. But what im hoping for is that Malaysians do know that no matter wat religion/ethnic you are, it does not stamp your position in the society either under privileged or privileged. And im not saying there should be a freedom to choose religion but... i can't say any further than this..
We will always fight and we will always make a stand for what we believe and have faith in... thats's just the nature of a human being and a citizen...

Invasion of Privacy
When one's privacy has been invaded, it saddens me..
Why cant people just mind their own business and dont judge people..
One's act is only humane.. Unless he or she is a muthafucka who molests a child or silently kills for f***s then by all means expose his/her malicious act cos that aint human.
But other than that, why cant people just leave it be..
Aren't we all human and we tend to feel and think the same thing about variables of life..

Strap for my baby!
i love my camera like it's my own child.. that i'd bring it everywhere i go, it keeps me company and i'll share with it anything that amuses me..
and when i saw these, i'm like..OH MY GOD!!!! just the right way to dress up my baby (i mean bags are boring)!!!

Buttons, Badges & Pins
i seriously think that no matter wat age you are, it's never wrong to accessorize with pins & buttons.. Some chose more electic and more "glam" pins with diamonds and stones but these above are my favourable pins!(plus if you lose one, it wont make you cry for days!unless that pin has some "emotional" attachement to it!)
It brigthens up an ensemble immediately!
This has become my new favourite hobby- collecting buttons, pins & badges from everywhere!! And please i will not start collecting magnets for z fridge!!!

Oh lordy lord!!! i found this story (a ridiculous one i may say for starters)which i just could not digest what was the intention or even to understand the logic behind it.. So, here was the highlight laid out by one webbie (and think tehy had the same reaction): -
A new law in Saudi Arabia has caused quite a bit of confusion. Are you sitting down? OK, so a strict version of Islam forbids women to come in contact with men who are not their relatives. And so the Saudis have issued a fatwa demanding that women who come into regular contact with unrelated men should breastfeed them so that they can be considered relatives. But the big issue is not the law, believe it or not. The heated debate is about the logistics of the law.
Sheikh Al Obeikan, an adviser to the royal court and Ministry of Justice, attempted to clear up the confusion by making a statement that “[men] should drink [the milk] and then [he] becomes a relative of the family, a fact that allows him to come in contact with the women without breaking Islam’s rules about mixing.” Abi Ishaq Al Huwaini, another high-profile sheik, followed this up by encouraging men to suckle the milk directly from the women’s breasts. This is in direct opposition with a 2007 fatwa that requires women to breastfeed adult men by pumping the milk into a glass and feeding it to them.
Mostly, the Saudi women are plain old dumbfounded about what to do with their breast milk, since it’s clearly not their choice. And, uh, what about women who aren’t producing milk? “The whole issue just shows how clueless men are,” says blogger Eman Al Nafjan. “All this back and forth between sheiks and not one bothers to ask a woman if it’s logical, let alone possible to breastfeed a grown man five fulfilling breast milk meals.”

Its only Tuesday & .....
Good god, its only Tuesday and my battery is running low already? Yikes!!! ehmmm maybe im wishing it was thursday today .. or my body just refuse to accept mondays, tuesdays and wednesdays anymore, therefore, it automatically put itself in a weekend is near mode where ur body just too tired to work on anything else and ur mind is excited with the tot that u can sleep in till noon not disturbed by havin to press on the snooze button and plainly lazy mode!
This kind of anticipation and mode really make time flies fast.. week after week just grace silently and the next thing you know its nearly the year end! Yikesss!(yet again)
Have to think productive !!! therefore jogging parks, yoga mats, stash of needles and ribbons, CLOSET, blogs, language centre, dancing classes here i come!!!( do you notice that i didn't even mention about being productive at work !!! ehmm maybe i just can't be positive about work anymore, not even money can bribe my conscience!)

Ehmmm how & where do i start????
i have a few blogs by now but of course deleted from it's short existence. I wonder why so cos i do seriously love to write.. maybe i have not discovered what's my forte yet! & on top of that i tend to "give up".. But the main source of reason would be - boredom! im bored outofmywits!!! and there's loads of precious "junks" i want to talk & share, even if it's just me rendering and reading the blogs!!
So, let's make this first entry short, and please be warned that i might end up looking like a fooligan cos the jumbled fumbled content of my blog, it may also be anything-nothing not even remotely related to myself, to u, to the general population or to life itself.
Hence, i hope it's a stroke of delight to mine and anybody's boredom..
Before i leave, here's something that enlighthens me (besides the fact that today's friday, me and im sure the rest of the world is joining hands for joy for the weekend).
So, let's make this first entry short, and please be warned that i might end up looking like a fooligan cos the jumbled fumbled content of my blog, it may also be anything-nothing not even remotely related to myself, to u, to the general population or to life itself.
Hence, i hope it's a stroke of delight to mine and anybody's boredom..
